That is something I hear often. People ask me all the time how I use Squidoo for profit. So I decided to take today’s post and go over some tips for making the most from Squidoo.

Squidoo Tip #1
Since Squidoo is one of the top 300 websites in the U.S., you need to understand that content is the key to success on Squidoo. With it being such a popular portal a good lens can cash in. Squidoo users surf looking for information or resources of use.

For you this means when you create a new lens, you need to make sure that your lens offers something to your reader. You need to offer ideas, tips, or info on your lens topic that people can actually use. A lens with nothing but ad’s will get no where, so if your lens is pasted with non-relevant ads or has more advertisements than content, you need to do some adjusting. Having ad’s within your lens is fine as long as you still offer value to the reader.

Squidoo Tip #2
Keep your Squidoo Lenses up to date. That means you can not just build a lenses and leave it and expect it to make loads of money. Adding new content to your lenses will keep it fresh and keep Google visiting. If you need to make a list of ideas you think of do it. Refer to your list once a week and use your ideas to add new content to your lenses.

Squidoo Tip #3
Many people fail to realize that you need to promote your lens. Without any promotion your lenses will not get much traffic and without traffic, it does no good. Submit your lens to social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon or Digg. Add a link to your Squidoo lens in your email signature or forum signature. You can even write a few articles and link to your lenses in the author bio. In short, you need to promote your lens just like any other website.

Squidoo Tip #4
Relevant Content. Even though this may seem obvious…you need to keep your content relevant. It doesn’t all have to be about one thing as long as it is relevant to the the main topic of your lens, and that gives you more keywords and tags. You can also do a keyword search and see what keywords will work best with your content, and utilize them.

Squidoo Tip #5
Start your own Squidoo group or join groups! Groups on Squidoo give value to your ranking and a great way to meet others who are interested in the same things. I join ever group started on Squidoo that is relevant and submit only the lenses that are similar in topic. The groups are all about networking, so get to work!
